1. What devices are supported?

Any device which runs on Windows Mobile OS version 5 or above. Among the others are HTC, Asus, Acer mobile phones.
There is difference between Windows Mobile devices with touch screen and without touch screen, so install the right one.
For WM devices with touch screens use Synorate File Locker for PocketPC version.
For WM devices without touch screens use Synorate File Locker for SmartPhone.

3. What is the most common application for this software?

Actually there are number of applications how the users use this program. Most common are:

Lock personal pictures from reach of other people
Lock confidential files downloaded to your mobile phone
Protect from access of malicious code or spyware accessing files

4. Does this utility provide me with more security than encryption software?

Encryption utilities for SmartPhones and PocketPCs or other portable devices work only with Memory card. Many informations are stored on the device internal memory, which leaves them absolutely unprotected.

5. I locked a folder with subfolders, photos, and documents. When I reviewed photo, I had to "unlock" each photo in the sub folder that had photos. Is there a way to lock the folder without locking each photo/file in the subfolders?

This is by design - for security purposes. Every file/folder when you unlock it, is unlucked only for few seconds. This avoids the situation - when you pass the phone to the other person to have a look at your photo/document, so they don't crawl all over your folders without you knowing it.
You have two ways how to handle this:

1. Remove lock from the files / folder until you make operation and then lock it again
2. Lock only the folders / files which are neccessary.

6. I locked the folder with pictures. When I make new photo or copy a photo in the folder, will it be protected?

Yes, when you put a new file in protected folder, it will be also locked.
